Hi Dan:
 
I hope you're well.  Yesterday, in a teleconference call with
Educational Policies Board  members, Roberta Davilla, an EPB member,
presented your petition for the creation of a Master's-Only Section in
NCA.  I felt that this overview was important, given that EPB spans all
academic levels, encompasses multiple units of the Association, and
links and interfaces with units that relate to the educational process.
As one of the leaders seeking the creation of this unit, I am writing
you with good news. 
 
After a great and supportive discussion, the Educational Policies Board
formally endorsed the creation of the "Master's-Only" Section for NCA
affiliation.  The Board members were particularly supportive of this NCA
unit since the Association has spent copious amounts of time discussing
Doctoral-level/Graduate-level initiatives and projects, many of which
may not and do not pertain to the Master's-only institutions.  Further,
many Board members have their academic roots (and some currently do) in
these sorts of institutions and recognize that the educational issues
related to this level are sometimes unique and therefore, necessitate
unique dialogues.
 
Although we have no real jurisdiction over this unit, we felt that our
support was important as you continue your quest seeking NCA affliation.

 
We wish you well as you collect the signatures for the creation of this
unit.  Have a restful and enjoyable summer.
